Lorrie Odom is a Howard University graduate and has been an actress in NYC for the past 20 years. She is currently recurring on HULU's original series SHUT EYE, Season 2 opposite star Isabella Rossellini.
Lorrie's upcoming Films Include: KINGS opposite Oscar Winner Halle Berry, ISN'T IT ROMANTIC opposite Rebel Wilson, BREAKING BROOKLYN opposite Louis Gossett Jr., and the Indie feature THE MAN IN THE WOODS.
Previous TV credits Include: FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE opposite Keegan-Michael Key, SCANDAL, QUEEN SUGAR, GOTHAM, MR.ROBOT, PERSON OF INTEREST, THE BLACKLIST, GIRLS, VEEP, LAW & ORDER: SVU, and HOMELAND.
For the past 4 years Lorrie has coached & prepared numerous actors for successful television and film auditions.
Putting actors on tape all day, 5 days a week for years allowed her to see the differences between the actors who booked constantly and those who didn't book. Sharpen your co-star audition skills while learning how to produce a competitive audition tape. Lorrie will assign you sides to self-tape and send back to her for use in the class.
In addition, she will discuss:
- What co-star roles are, auditioning for them, what happens when you book a co-star role, etc.
- The technical side of self-taping, (Cameras, phone orientation, lighting, sound, background, editing)
- Proper Framing, eyelines, tips and tricks to use when you can't remember lines.
UPON ENROLLMENT: Students must email a copy of their headshot and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. Sides will be sent to participants with self-taping instructions from Lorrie.
The only things you need are :
- Reliable Internet (Ethernet or Fast WiFI)
- A Laptop/Desktop/Tablet or Phone
- Quiet Room/Space
- Materials specifically stated by each workshop class or instructor(if any)
You MUST have a reliable internet connection in order to have the optimal experience. ActorPlaybook will NOT credit you if your class experience is affected by internet or technical issues on your end.
The Zoom link for each class is sent out approximately 6 hours beforehand. It is your responsibility to make sure you have the link and to reach out to ActorPlaybook PRIOR to the start of class if you have not received it. Please be sure to check your Inbox, Promotions, and Spam folders.
If you sign up for an Online Class the day of, you must email email@example.com so you can be sent the Zoom link for the class.
The start time of each class along with the respective time zone is listed clearly on the class page. It is your responsibility to mark your calendars accordingly. ActorPlaybook will NOT credit you if you did not take the time zone of the class into account.
